Union Public Service Commission is about to declare UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam Result 2016 on its official website at www.upsc.gov.in. Few days back, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the official notification on 23rd April 2016 to invite candidates for Civil Services examination 2016. Interested and skillful candidates have applied online before 27th May 2016. Later Civil Services Exam is conducted at different cities of India by the UPSC in order to select candidates for administrative positions in different All-India Services and central civil services including IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and IRTS. The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) among others.

UPSC Civil Service Pre Exam Pattern 2016

Preliminary Examination consists of two papers. Exam paper consists of Objective type (multiple choice questions). Each paper consists of 200 marks questions. So, the total marks for the exam paper is 400 marks. Paper I include question from General Studies while paper 2 include question from Aptitude. The question papers were set both in Hindi and English. Each paper was of two hours duration. 0.33 marks will be deducted from the total scored marks for every wrong answer.

UPSC Civil Service Pre Exam Result 2016

On the basis of the marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam candidate should be declared qualified to write the Mains Exam. Marks obtained in the prelims are only for qualifying for main exam and are not counted for determining final order of merit. In General Studies Paper – II, minimum qualifying marks is 33%. Candidate will be selected for Mains exam based total qualifying marks of General Studies Paper. Aptitude test (CSAT) is qualifying in nature, but candidate must score at least 33% marks in this paper. But the marks of this paper are not counted for writing the Mains examination.

UPSC Civil Services Further Selection Process 2016

The Civil Services Examination consists of two successive stages – Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type) and Main Examination. Main Examination will consist of written examination and an interview test for the final selection of candidates for the various Services and Posts. Written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type. Candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the Main Examination as fixed by the Commission will be selected for Interview which will carry 275 marks.
